Goal Bonito: find the player who played for both clubs
Goal Bonito is a head-to-head football trivia game for two players. Each round shows two clubs; the first to name a player who wore both shirts takes the point. It runs in your browser, nothing to install.
How an online match works
- Pick your club. You type a club, so does your opponent. Suggestions appear as you type. You can't see your opponent's pick until the countdown ends.
- 3-2-1. When you are both ready, a three-second countdown runs and both clubs are revealed together.
- Name the shared player. Within the round time (10, 15 or 30 seconds, chosen before the match) type a player who played for both clubs. The first correct answer wins the round and 1 point.
- Wrong answers cost time. A wrong name locks you out for 5 seconds. You also see your opponent's wrong guesses by name, so you know who is already ruled out.
- First to 3 points wins. A club can be picked only once per match (in a single-league pool it comes back after 3 rounds). If the two clubs share no player, the round isn't played and you pick again; three such pairs in a row end the match in a draw.
Example: Galatasaray and Inter: Wesley Sneijder, Mauro Icardi or Lukas Podolski are all correct. The first correct answer takes the round.
Which players count?
The game holds the club careers of more than a million footballers: not only today's stars but players from many leagues since the 1980s. Before a match you can narrow the pool:
- Scope: every club, each country's top league, Europe's big 5 leagues, or a single league from 20 countries (Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Süper Lig, Eredivisie, Liga Portugal, Brasileirão, MLS and more).
- Era: the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. Pick one or more decades; only players with at least one appearance in those years count.
Suggestions come from every player in the game, not just the right answers, so the list never gives the answer away. Accents don't matter: typing "odegaard" finds Ødegaard. Answers are checked against the club careers in the game's database.
Matchmaking, Elo and friend rooms
Play online tries to match you with an opponent of similar strength who chose the same scope, era and round time. Every player has an Elo rating: beating an equal opponent raises it a little, beating a stronger one raises it more. In the Social tab you can add friends and follow the leaderboard.
Play with a friend opens a room; share its code or link, and once your friend joins you choose the scope, era and round time together. Room matches need no tickets and don't affect Elo or the leaderboard.
Single-player modes
- Classic ladder: two clubs, name someone who played for both. As you climb, the clubs share fewer players and the questions get harder.
- This or that: two players and one stat (appearances, goals, assists, cards, number of clubs and more). Whose number is higher?
- Career path: a player's clubs appear one by one with the years; the sooner you guess, the more points you score.
At the end of every run you see your score, the question that beat you and a short football fact from it, and you can share the result with friends.
FAQ
Is it free?
Yes, playing is free. Online matchmade games use tickets: a match costs one ticket, you get it back if you win, and one ticket refills every 30 minutes. Single-player modes and friend rooms need no tickets.
Do I need an account?
No. On your first visit you start as a guest with a nickname. You can link a Google or Apple account later to keep your progress on another device.
Is there an age limit?
You must be at least 13 to play; players under 16 cannot use written chat. See the Terms of Use.
Which languages?
English, Turkish, Spanish, Italian, German, French, Dutch, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Romanian and Polish. Player names are typed in Latin letters.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The site is built for phone browsers, and Android and iOS apps are on the way; they run the same game with the same account.

Guides
Once you know the rules, the real fun is knowing which club to pick and when, and which player to remember. We wrote a guide for each mode:
- 3-2-1 online match strategy: club picks, round time and the cost of a wrong answer.
- Classic ladder: how to find the shared player as the steps get harder.
- This or that: how to make better guesses on stat questions.
- Career path: recognising the player early while the clubs appear one by one.
- Played for both clubs: hand-picked examples of the question at the heart of the game.
