Goal Bonito guides
Learning the rules takes a minute; playing well takes a little longer. This page collects our guides to how each mode works and how to get better at it. The team that makes the game wrote every one of them by hand, and each example was checked one by one against the game's database.
Modes and strategy
- 3-2-1 online match strategy
The main mode, played live against an opponent. Which club to pick and when, how to use the round time, and why a wrong answer costs more than you think. From club picks to typing habits.
- Classic ladder
A solo run of club pairs that get harder step by step. How to use the clock, how your score grows and ways of thinking that help you recall the shared player.
- This or that
Two players, one stat: whose number is higher? We explain the categories and the rules of thumb that help you decide fast.
- Career path
A player's clubs appear one at a time and you try to recognise them as early as possible. How to read a career and when to make your guess.
Football knowledge
- Played for both clubs
The question at the heart of the game: who wore both shirts? From players who crossed derby lines to those who came home, hand-picked examples and the stories behind them.
Where to start
If you are new to the game, read the Classic ladder guide first and play a few runs. The ladder teaches the core question (who played for both clubs?) without pressure: there is no opponent, and a wrong answer doesn't cost a life, only time. It is where you get a feel for which club pairs are easy and which are hard.
Once you are used to finding the shared player quickly, move on to the 3-2-1 online match strategy. Knowledge alone isn't enough online: the club you pick shapes the question too, your opponent's wrong guesses give you clues and the round time changes your decisions. The guide is there so you can think about those choices before the match starts.
To train your football memory from other angles, try Career path and This or that. One asks you to recognise a player from his clubs, the other to compare two careers in your head; both sharpen the knowledge that wins online rounds. And the Played for both clubs article collects the most enjoyable examples of it: players who swapped shirts between fierce rivals.
